Destiny Discover
International Walk to School Day

On October 4, 2017, thousands of students from the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board will join the millions of children worldwide in the movement toward active, sustainable transportation and good health.

International Walk to School Day – also known as iWalk – was initiated by Active & Safe Routes to School in 1969 to create safer, healthier routes to school.

Today, Active School Transportation has made a difference. That difference has resulted in healthier children, less traffic and pollution, safer school zones, and better academic performance.

To help schools get ready for IWALK, Active & Safe Routes to School has prepared resources and a registration survey available for download at http://www.saferoutestoschool.ca/internati ... .

Schools that register for IWALK will receive a Certificate of Participation from Canada Walks! Schools can register at any time between now and the end of October.

Stories and events can be shared on social media using the hashtag #WYDHamOnt.
